Carex viridula

Little Green Sedge (Carex viridula) is a rare native grass that grows in Central and Northern California, primarily in the North Coast and High Sierra Nevada regions. It is moderately fast growing and moderately long-lived. It grows in an upright form to a height of 1.5 feet, with active growth during the spring and summer. Flowers are green and bloom in the early summer. Leaves are medium green and deciduous. It tends to grow in sphagnum bogs, at elevations from 0-5200 feet.
