Persicaria hydropiperoides

Water Pepper (Polygonum hydropiperoides) is a native perennial herb that grows in northern, southern and central California. It is slow growing and moderately long-lived. It grows in a flat form to a height of feet, with active growth during the summer. Flowers are green and bloom in the at unpredictable times of the year. Leaves are dark green and deciduous. It tends to grow in wet streambanks, at elevations from 0-4900 feet.
