Salix prolixa

Mackenzie’s Willow (Salix prolixa) is a native tree or shrub that grows in Central and Northern California, primarily in the Klamath Mountain Range, the High Cascade Range and High Sierra Nevada regions. It is moderately fast growing and short-lived. It grows in a semi-upright form to a height of 45 feet, with active growth during the spring and summer. Flowers are white and striking, and bloom in the early spring. Leaves are medium green and deciduous. It tends to grow in streams, at elevations from 0-7000 feet.
