Gooseberryleaf Globemallow (Sphaeralcea grossulariifolia) is a native perennial herb or shrub that grows in Central and Northern California, primarily in the Modoc Plateau region. It is moderately fast growing and moderately long-lived. It grows in a flat form to a height of 2 feet, with active growth during the spring and summer. Flowers are red and striking, and bloom in the late spring. Leaves are medium green and deciduous. It tends to grow in dry and sandy places, at elevations from 0-700 feet.
