Sphaeralcea munroana

Munro’s Globemallow (Sphaeralcea munroana) is a rare native perennial herb that grows in California, primarily in the High Sierra Nevada region. It is moderately fast growing and moderately long-lived. It grows in an upright form to a height of 2.5 feet, with active growth during the spring and summer. Flowers are orange and striking, and bloom in the mid spring. Leaves are dark green and deciduous. It tends to grow in dry volcanic places, at elevations from 0-6600 feet.
