Big Headed Clover (Trifolium macrocephalum) is a native perennial herb that grows in northern California. It is fast growing and short-lived. It grows in a flat form to a height of 2 feet, with active growth during the spring and summer. Flowers are purple and striking, and bloom in the mid spring. Leaves are medium green and deciduous. It tends to grow in meadows and streambanks, at elevations from 2000-5500 feet.
